Reclaimed Rubber is cheaper, stable in price and contributes to consistency in qualities of the products.

Reclaimed Rubber imparts framness to compounds making the processing easier. It permits faster and safer extrusion and calendering. It reduces sagging and loss of shape.

Reclaimed decreases shrinkage of uncured compound before and during curing. Curing is made faster thus reducing mould or press time.

Introduction Reclaimed Rubber imparts excellent ageing properties.

Reclaimed Rubber is elastic and may be worked with solvent, usually in the presence of resins to form useful, high solid cements.

Reclaimed Rubber is helpful in modifying the recipes to suit individual customer requirements, with respect to physical and chemical properties, color, cost, size of package etc..

Less heat is developed during mixing and subsequent processing compared with compounds based on new rubber. This is an important property especially in compounds containing high carbon black loadings, which are sometime scorchy if too high a temperature is allowed to develop.

Extruder die swell and calender shrinkage are minimised by the proper use of Reclaimed Rubber.

Reclaimed rubber has excellent ageing properties, when used in either the cured or uncured condition. The severe treatment to which it has already been subjected includes oxidation, heating, digestion, washing and mastication in air and these appear to stabilise the hydrocarbon  against further changes. But the tensile strength, modulus, resilience, tear resistance and abrasion are all reduced as the proportion of whole tyre reclaim is increased.

Reclaim is extensively used in friction tape, where retention of tackiness is important. Due to maximum processing efficiency it is used in the manufacture of tyres, auto floor mats and auto hard rubber battery containers.  It is also used in articles such as tubings, hoses and weather proof items.

Reclaimed rubber is satisfactorily used in many articles such as footwear, which have to withstand constant tear.
